The Running Guy Sponsors The Hilly Helmet Challenge

The four-mile multi-terrain run will be setting off from Leighton Recreation Centre with fancy dress, and fancy headgear, encouraged and prizes including one for the best helmet.

The event is the inspiration of Robin-Mark Schols who, following complications from brain tumour surgery, had to have a piece of skull removed. Until the hole in his skull could be repaired with a titanium plate, Robin had to wear a helmet everywhere he went, even on his runs. However, even during this time his determination to regain fitness through running was remarkable. He also achieved excellent times in the past two London Marathons, and we were very proud that on both occasions he was running for Brain Tumour Support. You can read more about Robin's story on his Champion Fund page here.
